Our Team

Kind, caring and resourceful, Dr. Chad Roberts, an Idaho native, fell in love with the Tetons more than 20 years ago. Dr. Roberts has maintained his current facility since 2004 and acquired full ownership in 2007. Dr. Roberts has a great repoire with his patients and many seem to love coming back year after year. Utah State University gave him great knowledge in the undergraduate areas but most importantly Dr. Roberts’ Optometric education came from the highly ranked Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Traversing Pacific’s clinics in Portland, Oregon gave him great knowledge in the area of eyecare diseases as well as great refractive expertise. If you are worried about diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and how diabetes and high blood pressure affects the eyes come see him. Dr. Roberts’ other specialties include managing ocular surface disease, which involves dry, burning or watery eyes. He does great refractions and guarantees every one, which means you will see much better regardless of whether you wear contacts or glasses. Dr. Roberts maintains a co-managing relationship with the best LASIK and cataract surgeons and can expertly manage pre and post-op conditions. Dr. Roberts believes in quality eyecare of all aspects and tries to ensure that everybody has a higher quality of life after each visit.

Dr. Roberts feels at home in the outdoors and loves fishing, boating and hunting. He has recently taken up photography as well and has found many interesting similarities between the way the eye and the camera process light. He loves spending time with his 4 children and wife in various outdoor settings. He also recently, donned a scoutmaster’s uniform and you might find him along one of the many hiking trails trying to keep up with an energetic bunch of boys scouts.

Effective, knowledgeable and helpful, Teresa has been in management for several years. As the wife of Dr. Roberts she has a keen interest in maintaining Hole Family Eyecare to the highest standards. Teresa thrives on the puzzle of systems and making them work in a way that benefits not only the practice but everybody involved including our esteemed patients. Teresa, also enjoys taking on the challenging insurance environment and helps us keep in tune with their requirements. Teresa is very fond of Jackson and the surrounding area, falling in love with it on her honeymoon. When she is not wrestling insurance companies, Teresa can be found with her kids taking them to events or just being home as a mom. Teresa loves gardening, camping and boating especially if her kids find enjoyment in it as well.

Meghan Merkey is a 6 year member of the team whose role has evolved over the years. She started with Hole Family Eyecare as a front desk receptionist and eventually worked back with patients as a technician. Meghan now lives and works for Hole Family Eyecare remotely focusing on billing and patient coordinating from her home state of Michigan. When she isn’t submitting claims to insurance, doing detective work on patient’s behalves or scheduling and keeping patients compliant with appointments and treatment. Outside the office she can often be found in her ceramics studio creating, out in the woods hiking or reading on the beaches of Lake Michigan.

I’ve been part of the Hole Family Eye Care team for nearly seven years, and I’m proud to serve as an Optical Technician. I work closely with Dr. Roberts and the rest of our team to help make sure every patient feels comfortable, welcomed, and well cared for throughout their visit.

My day-to-day responsibilities include bringing patients back for their exams and performing pre-testing, such as checking pupils and eye pressure and capturing retinal images with our Optos imaging system. I also enjoy helping patients select frames and fitting their glasses, making sure they find eyewear that is comfortable, fits well, and helps them feel confident.

I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to communicate with and assist even more of our patients. One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know the people who come through our office, seeing familiar faces, and helping make each visit as easy and comfortable as possible.

I was born and raised right here in Jackson, Wyoming, so being able to work and serve in the community where I grew up means a great deal to me. When I’m not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my family of four, making memories together, and taking advantage of everything Jackson and the surrounding area have to offer.

I’ve been a technician at Hole Family Eye Care for nearly a year. In my role, I perform the initial testing for Dr. Roberts and gather important information that helps him better understand each patient’s needs and the reason for their visit.

I’ve worked in customer service since I was 14, which has helped me develop a strong work ethic, a sense of responsibility, and a genuine appreciation for working with people. Those experiences taught me how important it is to make people feel heard, comfortable, and well cared for—qualities I bring with me every day when working with our patients.

Working at Hole Family Eye Care has also given me the opportunity to learn more about eye care and the important role eye health plays in overall well-being. I enjoy learning from Dr. Roberts and asking questions, which has helped me continue building my knowledge and confidence as a technician. Attending the eye care expo in Idaho Falls was another great learning experience, giving me the chance to see new technology and discover additional ways we can better serve our patients.

I was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming, and I’m proud to call this beautiful community home. Fall is my favorite time of year because I love watching the colors change throughout the valley—it can look like a painting. I enjoy hiking, finding beautiful views, and spending summer days at the lake paddleboarding with my family.

Most of all, I value spending quality time with family and friends and making good memories together. I’m grateful to be part of the Hole Family Eye Care team and to have the opportunity to continue learning, connecting with people, and serving the community I grew up in.

I’ve been part of the Hole Family Eyecare team for nearly two years as our Front Desk Coordinator. As one of the first points of contact for our patients, I enjoy helping make every visit feel welcoming, organized, and comfortable from the moment they walk through the door.

I began working when I was 13 years old and have more than seven years of customer service experience. Those experiences have helped me develop a strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a genuine appreciation for working with people. Before joining Hole Family Eyecare, I spent four years working at a hotel in Jackson’s Town Square, where I gained valuable experience in a professional environment and learned more about the business side of customer service.

At Hole Family Eyecare, my responsibilities extend well beyond the front desk. I help patients schedule and coordinate appointments, answer questions, manage paperwork and payments, and assist with many of the day-to-day needs of the office. I also enjoy helping patients with their eyewear, including glasses adjustments and dispensing glasses and contact lenses.

One of my favorite parts of working at Hole Family Eyecare is how much I continue to learn. I enjoy asking questions and learning from Dr. Roberts, Teresa, and our technicians, which has helped me better understand eye care and all the different parts of an optometry practice. Attending the eye-care Expo in Idaho Falls has also given me the opportunity to learn more about eyewear, new products, and developments in the eye-care industry.

I was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming, and I’m proud to call this community home. Summer is my favorite time of year, and when I’m not at the office, you’ll often find me enjoying the outdoors. I love spending time at the lake, soaking up the sunshine, riding bikes, hiking, and relaxing at the hot springs. I also enjoy spending time with my family, getting together with friends for dinner, and occasionally slowing down with a good book.
